When I was about four years old, one of the most influential personalities came into my life. It may sound silly, but it was a small, black and white cat named Bruno. He played with me, slept with me, and helped me with my homework. When I got picked on at school, he would be waiting at home to sit on my lap and calm me down. When things were going great, he'd be there to purr in celebration with me. There are so many emotional benefits to having a pet, and since I've been around animals my entire life, it's natural for me to yearn to help pets and pet owners.

So who am I? I'm Amy Huxtable. Graphic designer, artist, and animal lover. I graduated from McPherson College in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design and studio art. I'm working full time at my local newspaper and working on freelance design projects as often as I can get them. As passionate as I am about art and design, I'm also extremely fond of animals. I have a cat, Jack, and a chinchilla, Schroeder. I look forward to volunteering with the APA SPCA!
